Miss Virginia Short, daughter of Superintendent of Schools B.A. Short and Mrs. Short and a Conway High School senior, will compete with other Arkansas girls for the right to represent the Arkansas chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution at the national convention in Washington, Mrs. Fred Gordy, chairman of Littleton Johnston chapter committee of Conway, chosen to select the local representative, announced today.

Sandra Kellar, 20, was crowned Miss Prince Gardner at a Christmas party last night at the National Guard Armory. Miss Kellar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kellar, was chosen by secret ballot by employees of the plant. The two runners-up were Miss Anna Riggins and Mrs. Mary Schrekenhofer. Miss Kellar was crowned by Bill Pearson, Prince Gardner manager.

Rebecca Lauren Malpica, a student at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, recently was selected as a member of the Outstanding College Students of America.

A daughter of Larry and Hilda Malpica of Conway and a grandchild of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Malpica of Conway, she was selected for outstanding merit and accomplishment in her college work.

Tournament MVP Brittney Greer finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots as the Conway Lady Wampus Cats defeated Springdale 51-46, to win the Bulldog Coca-Cola Classic on Saturday.
