Mr. and Mrs. Gus Allison entertained the Conway Night Bridge Club Saturday evening at their home in Little Rock. Members from Conway who attended were Mr. and Mrs. George G. Shaw, H.C. Couch Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Robins Jr., and Mrs. Cecil B. Raleigh. Mr. and Mrs. Shaw and Mrs. Robins won prizes.

(1963)

Steven Swaffer, 10, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Swaffer, displayed a 3-point buck he bagged Tuesday morning while hunting on Big Island in Desha County. The 150-pound deer was shot at 40 yards with a 30-30 caliber rifle. This was Steven’s second deer hunt. He was hunting from the Conway Big Island Hunting Club camp. His father accompanied him.

Debra Robinson of Greenbrier, who got her first job after high school in 1977 at the Conway Senior Citizens Center, has worked her way up through the ranks to become executive director of the Faulkner County Senior Citizens Program.

Mrs. Robinson replaces Nancy Shaddox of Conway, who resigned to work as job development coordinator of Pathfinders Schools at Jacksonville.

Mrs. Robinson and her husband, Joe, have two children, Lindsey, 5, and Brian, 3.

Conway Blue outscored Sheridan 13-2 in overtime to claim a 38-28 conference victory on Thursday.

Luke Pruett paced Conway Blue (4-2, 3-1) with 19 points while Chris Franco added 13 points. Grayson Yerton came off the bench in the extra period and provided a spark for his team with two points.
