Friends and family of Vivian York of Mayflower, are invited to attend the celebration of her 90th birthday. The event will take place on Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Mayflower Elementary School Cafeteria. There will be a potluck lunch from noon to 2 p.m., and visiting from 2 to 4 p.m. The family is asking that no gifts be brought.
Vivian was born in DeWitt, Ark., to Harry and Violet Booher. Pastor Harry Booher founded Jones Hill Pentecostal Church in Mayflower of which she is still an active member as the piano player. She was a homemaker and a cafeteria worker of the Mayflower School District. Vivian is the oldest of 10 children, has had six sons, Richard, Ray, Ed, Leo, Joe, and the late Buryl. She has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
