‘Human Rights Celebration 2013’
Church Women United of Faulkner County is sponsoring a “Human Rights Celebration 2013.” The program will be entitled “Breaking Down the Doors of Injustice.” It will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at the Four Winds Church located at 2005 Dave Ward Dr. in Conway. The public is invited.
First Baptist Church of Mayflower will present a Live Nativity, 6-8 p.m. weather permitting, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 6-7. The Nativity will be next to the parking lot across from the church. Admission is free.
Salem UMC Craft Bazaar and Bake Sale
The Salem United Methodist Church Craft Bazaar and Bake Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, with homemade gifts and ornaments, home baked goodies and canned goods, gently used decorations and frozen meals all available for purchase. Also, breakfast and lunch will be served, so shoppers may eat before or after shopping.
Second Sunday of Advent
The Children’s and Youth Music Ministries at First Presbyterian Church will present special music during morning worship at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, in the sanctuary of the church. Offering their gifts of Advent and Christmas music will include, the Children’s Choir, directed by Ms. Clara Martin, the Faith Ringers, directed by Mr. Lars Seme, and the Youth Choir, directed by Ms. Amy Wittenburg.
Child care will be provided.

Wesley United Methodist Church chancel choir will perform “Christ is Born,” a Christmas Cantata, at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 8. Joining in the performance will be several students from the music department of the University of Central Arkansas. The public is invited. The church is located at 2310 E. Oak St. across from Caldwell Country Store.
Faulkner County Singing Club
The Faulkner County Singing Club will meet at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at Gold Creek Baptist Church, 354 Sturgis Rd., located 4 miles south of Coway off of Highway 65.

J.R. Raynor Mass Choir Christmas Cantata
The J.R. Raynor Mass Choir will present “And They Called His Name Jesus,” A Christmas Cantata written by Dr. Lloyd E. Hervey I at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at Greater Pleasant Branch Missionary Baptist Church, 601 Spruce St. This ministry is based on the portrayal of the birth, ministry, passion, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ found in Matthew 1:2a.

First Presbyterian Church will present Taize service at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8. The Taize service is modeled after the contemplative worship of the Taize community in Taize, France. It consists of a series of prayers which are sung, scripture readings and silence. The silence is a central component to Taize worship as it encourages worshippers to examine ourselves and listen for God.
The Rev. Michael Vinson will lead the service which will be held in Room 205, located at the west entrance of the building. The church is located at 2400 Prince St.
‘Guess Who’s Coming to Bethlehem’
The First Presbyterian Church Children’s Choir, under the direction of Ms. Clara Martin, will present the musical play, “Guess Who’s Coming to Bethlehem” at 7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 9, in the Fellowship Hall of the church. This delightful story recreates the birth of the baby Jesus in the stable, causing great excitement with the animals living there. Cast members include Jillian Bradshaw, Eli Brannon, Jackson Folds, Mackenzie Folds, Mary Caroline Grimes, Matthew Grimes, Marin Jackson, Julia Johnson, Charley Mattingly, Zoe Ryken, Jessica Vangsnes as Mary and Brett Thompson as Joseph. Assisting with the play are Ms. Sarah Hays and Mr. Blake Thompson serving as narrators. An informal reception will follow the program. Child care will be available.

Free concert at Beryl Baptist Church
Southern Gospel singing group Brian Free and Assurance will be performing at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Beryl Baptist Church, 873 Main St. in Vilonia.
