Landon Enderlin, who has been a model of consistency for the St. Joseph golf team, continued his tear Tuesday on one of his home courses at Conway Country Club.
Enderlin fired an even-par 70 to claim medalist honors at the Class 2A golf tournament for the third time in four years.
“He played very steady and well today,” said St. Joseph coach Chris Kordsmeier. “He has been a great golfer for us the last four years.”
Enderlin qualified for the state overall tournament on Thursday, Oct. 17,
St. Joseph finished third at 269. Buffalo Island Central won at 245, followed by Cedar Ridge (266).
Other score for the St. Joseph were Nash Nichols (98), Braden Brorman (101) and Landon Bruich (103).
“The balls all did well and we had a great season,” Kordsmeier said.
ROGERS — Conway’s boys finished fourth Wednesday in the 7A state high school golf tournament at Lost Springs Country Club.
The Wampus Cats, the defending champions, combined for a 654 to finish behind Fayetteville (621), Bentonville (631) and Har-Ber (651). The Cats won the Central Conference championship Tuesday with a first-round score of 325 that placed them third overall going into the final 18 holes.
Whit Parker led the Cats with a 77-81-158, followed by Josh Walker at 76-87-163. Both players earned all-state and all-conference honors. Other Wampus Cat scores were: Carter Cloe (161), Lincoln Hill (169) and Gray McOwen (173).
Luke Long of state champion Fayetteville earned medalist honors at 144. Jack Robertson, the first-round leader, finished second at 148.
Conway defeated Fort Smith Northside, 25-22, 19-25, 26-24, 25-13, in volleyball Tuesday night at Buzz Bolding Arena.
The Lady Cats upped their mark to 16-3 and 8-2.
Courtney Campbell had 10 kills and three blocks for the Lady Cats. Rachel Skinner added 36 digs and two aces. Sara Nethercutt had 37 assists and 17 digs.
Conway won the JV game, 25-16, 25-7 to go to 11-1, 8-1. Mackenzie Dear led with seven kills and five digs. Morgan Mourot added 21 assists.
Jacklyun Quinit added 12 digs and Payton Lindsey an ace.
ST. JOSEPH VOLLEYBALL
St. Joseph took a 25-12, 25-9, 25-8 victory over Harding Academy on Tuesday night at the St. Joseph Family Activity Center.
Meagan Briggler, Madison Seither and Madeline Moix each had two kills for the Lady Bulldogs (13-5, 10-2). Moix and Sydney Spradlin were leading servers. Sparadlin added two aces. Linzy Hoelzeman had two aces and 13 digs. Rachel Briggler had seven assists.
“Godo start to a three-game conference week,” said St. Joseph coach Luke Davis. “We need a lot more kills, though, if we are going to make a run in a couple of weeks.”
CBC MEN’S SOCCER
The Central Baptist College men’s soccer team knocked off visiting Southwest Baptist University, 4-1, at Centennial Park Tuesday afternoon.
Freshman winger Joe Adkins two goals, the Mustangs (3-7, 1-0) jumped out to a 2-0 halftime lead and never trailed.
Jarrel Grimes and Sabelo Hlongwane also scored for CBC.
Freshman Zach Christal, recorded eight saves for the victory.
CBC has won three wins in the past four games, outscoring its opponents, 14-6, during that span. The Mustangs play at Central Christian College on Thursday.
HENDRIX MEN’S SOCCER
The Hendrix College men’s soccer team lost to LeTourneau University, 3-0, Tuesday night in Longview, Texas.
The host YellowJackets (3-8-1) broke a scoreless game in the 43rd minute when Edwin Raudales scored on a pass from Patrick Tchekane. Adam Schutlz added another goal in the 48th minute and Schultz assisted Mario Lopez in the 63rd minute for the final score.
Sophomore midfielder Jacob Pierce shot seven times for Hendrix and junior midfielder Alex Cummings and sophomore midfielder C.J. Thompson each had two.
