GREENBRIER — Senior Taylor Avery was crowned Queen of the Homecoming Maids at Greenbrier High School’s football game Friday night.
She is the daughter of Tamara Avery and the late Jeb Avery. To the enthusiastic cheers and joy of the crowd, superintendent Scott Spainhour placed her crown and principal John Ashworth placed a dozen white roses in her arms. The pageant took place on the field before a close game that Greenbrier won against Harrison, 47-43.
Maids, dressed in their evening gowns and escorted onto the field with their families, were: sophomores Jaclyn Marlin, Emily Moore, Charlsey Dillon and Madie Mazur; juniors Emily Chambers, Meredith Hammontree, Charline Lasley and Morgan Madalone; and seniors Danielle Welter, Kristen Shafer, Haley Hilliard and Treslyn Fletcher.
