Electors of Holland School District yesterday voted, 58 to 0, to borrow $1,000 from the state revolving loan fund to construct a gymnasium. The building will be a frame structure and will be constructed as a WPA project.

Kenneth R. Hall of Conway was among the U.S. Army Engineer employees who worked on the Greers Ferry Reservoir project which will be dedicated Thursday by President Kennedy. Hall worked as a student trainee at the project under a cooperative program which permits him to attend college and work for the engineers part-time. A graduate form Conway High School, class of 1959, he is presently attending Georgia Institute of Technology. The Greers Ferry project, near Heber Springs, is a $46.7 million unit in the development of the White River Basin in Arkansas and Missouri.

Carmen Dickerson, 10, of Conway tried her hardest to win a live rabbit by tossing a pingpong ball into a moving target at the Faulkner County Fair, then reacted with grace even though she didn’t win a pet: “Oh well. Maybe next year.” Carmen is a daughter of Stan and Kaye Dickerson.

The family of Lovie Whitley of Conway is celebrating five generations in the family they are — Mrs. Whitley’s son, Dwane Stone; her granddaughter, Wanda Stone; her great-granddaughter, Miranda Morris; and her great-great-grandson, Noah Morris.
