University of Central Arkansas women’s soccer players earned two honors from the Southland Conference for last week’s play.
Adrianna Lucar was named Offensive Player of the Week. She played a major role in Central Arkansas starting 2-0-0 in conference play for the first time in program history with wins over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Northwestern State. The senior from Lima, Peru, scored twice in UCA’s 3-0 shutout against the Lady Demons, giving her seven goals on the season. On the week, Lucar played 165 minutes, took eight shots, six of which were on goal, and scored twice.
Lyndzey Goff was Goalkeeper of the Week. Goff split time in the net over the weekend, playing the second half of both games and earning the win in the 2-1 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The senior from Glenpool, Okla., played 90 minutes and did not allow a single goal on the week while facing 12 shots and recording three saves.
FCA outreach event set for Little Rock
Fields of Faith, a Fellowship of Christian Athletes community outreach event, will be in Little Rock on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at War Memorial Stadium.
Fields of Faith is where students and adults gather for free pizza, worship and to hear hear testimonies from athletes, including two former NFL players.
Free pizza nd soft drinks will be served at 5:30 p.m. and the program will start at 6 p.m.. Everyone in the central Arkansas area is invited. Fields of Faith will be held at Pulaski Academy in the event of rain.
