Six hundred and forty acres of land owned by W.B. Mills was sold to the Reconstruction Finance Corporation at a commissioner’s sale conducted by T.E. Wofford at the courthouse this afternoon. The RFC held a judgment for $3,683.73 against the land, which was the amount of the bid at today’s sale. The land is located in section 10, township 6 north, range 13 west, in 27-6-11, 28-1-11, 4-7-15 and 11-6-15.
William J. Clark, executor of the estate of G.W. Shelton, purchased for $500 28 acres of land in 35-6-14. Clark held a judgment for $813.99 against Ida King et al., owners.

Sunny skies and comfortable temperatures greeted the Faulkner County Fair today.
Hundreds of persons jammed downtown streets to view the parade that kicked off the four-day exposition.
Floats were judged and winners were to be announced later today.
The midway at the fair opened at noon.

The Rev. and Mrs. Clifford Sutterfield of Greenbrier announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Velta, to Mark Lovil of Greenbrier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lovil of Mineola, Texas. A Saturday, Nov. 5, wedding is planned.

Mollee Baker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Baker of Conway, has been named to the cast of Harding University’s homecoming musical, “The Music Man.” Baker, a sophomore English major, will play Eulalie. Performance dates are set for Friday, Oct. 17, and Saturday, Oct. 18.
