CENTER RIDGE — St. Joseph’s volleyball team (3-1) defeated Nemo Vista, 25-19, 25-9, 25-10 Thursday night.
Rachel Briggler served 17 of 17 and Madeline Moix 16 of 17 for the Lady Bulldogs. Briggler added 15 assists. Sydney Spradlin had 18 digs.
“This was a good conference win in a tough environment,” said coach Luke Davis. “We started out slowly but the girls made some adjustments and finished strong. We have a big week next week with Conway Christian, Harding and the Vilonia tournament.”
St. Joseph won the JV game, 25-19, 20-25, 15-5.
Conway High opened 7A/6A Central play at home with a double volleyball victory over Russellville.
The Lady Cats won the varsity game, 25-20, 25-9, 25-21, to go to 4-0, Maddie Pressley had 19 digs and two aces. Jada Benton added four blocks.
Sara Nethercutt had 26 assists and Alexa Hreha, nine kills
Conway won the JV game, 25-16, 25-13.
Madison McNew had five kills and Morgan Mourot added seven assists. Mackenzie Dear had two aces and McKenna Arnolds, six digs, for the Lady Cats, also 4-0.
The Central Arkansas women’s volleyball team opened the 2013 UCA/Sears Sugar Bear Classic with a 25-11, 25-14, 25-13 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Central Arkansas was led offensively by Heather Schnars, who had 11 kills, nine service aces, and five digs. Fulani Petties had six kills and a block, while Alicia Dittrich had four kills and three aces.
RUTH DOYLE VOLLEYBALL
Vilonia defeated Ruth Doyle Middle School, 25-16, 25-19, in volleyball Thursday.
Blakelee Scott led Ruth Doyle with seven digs and two aces.
The Lady Eagles also won the B game, 25-17, 25-12. Trinity Smith and Jessica Watson had two aces for Ruth Doyle.
