Tyler Knowles, 6-foot-2, 195, senior, safety
How do you evaluate your defense so far?
Knowles: “Our defensive backs are working hard. Our d-line looks good. Our linebackers have collisions in mind. We are not big but we’re fast.”
What is the biggest adjustment moving from linebacker to safety?
Knowles: “I feel a lot better about it. The toughest part is how manny coverages we have. It’s gonna be hard to figure out where I need to be and what I have to cover.”
How have you prepared for that?
Knowles: “I’ve been doing a lot of weight-lifting and working on coverages because that is where my weak suit is.
I’ve also been working on run support.”
Jared Willis, 6-1, 180, junior quarterback
What has been you biggest adjustment at quarterback?
Willis: “Being able to run our offense and knowing where everybody gonna be. I like the passing emphasis.”
Having only started three games at quarterback, how has that adjustment gone?
Willis: “Good. The older classmen all respect me.”
What have you been working on?
Willis: “I’ve worked a lot on my footwork and where the hot reads are. We’ve added on a lot from last year. It’s the little things.”
How do you see the prospects for this year’s team?
Willis: “I think we can go pretty far in the playoffs this year as long as a lot of people don’t get hurt.”
