GREENBRIER — If you are interested in singing 3-part harmony and having a good time, someone in the group lives near you and can provide a ride to the Conway Women’s Chorus, whose first rehearsal starts in September.
Although some musical experience with reading music or appearances in productions is always helpful, it is not required to sing with this group. There are now more than 20 voices. The Chorus has presented some programs that got standing ovations, such as a military tribute to the USO (United Service Organization) with songs from the 1940’s like “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” songs from the 1800s in Civil War costumes, and Christmas programs with songs like “The Twelve Groovy Days of Christmas.”
The Chorus was formed in 2005 with only a handful of singers by Director Joan Hanna, who also directs the Faulkner Academy of Arts. She is Musical Director for the Conway Dinner Theater for their two yearly productions and gives private voice and piano lessons.
Come try them. 2013 Conway Womens Chorus’ first rehearsal is September 10, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 2201 Washington Avenue, Conway. The first 3 rehearsals are "open" for you to try them out. The only criteria are you must be female, love to sing and want to have fun!! Call 501-339-7401 or e-mail at email@example.com for more information.
