Dr. and Mrs. N.E. Fraser entertained with a family dinner at their home on Davis Street in honor of the birthday of their son, Lt. Hal Fraser of Hardy, who with Mrs. Fraser and their children were their guests. Mrs. Fraser and the children remained for a longer visit.

John W. Cornwell, Baldwin Piano Co. plant manager, explained the technicalities of production to some of the members of an inspection tour conducted in Conway yesterday for officials of the Arkansas Industrial Development Commission. Those on hand for the tour were Ben F. Caldwell, plant location consultant; Dick DuVall, executive director of the AIDC; J.F. O’Kelley, president of the Conway Chamber of Commerce; and Joe Dildy, chief consultant for the AIDC.

Janie Ford Sowell, 24, and her daughter, Ashley Brooke Sowell, 2, were recent participants in the Mrs. Sweetheart USA and Miss Sweetheart national pageants, with Mrs. Sowell being named the 1988 Mrs. Sweetheart USA and Miss Sowell taking third place in the Miss Sweetheart pageant.
Mrs. Sowell received a crown and banner and Miss Sowell received a trophy.
Miss Sowell is also a daughter of Keith Sowell of Conway, a granddaughter of Billie Ford, the late Eldon Ford and Adron and Pearl Sowell, all of Conway, and a great-granddaughter of Lora Ford of Conway.

Meagan Briggler, 7, is the winner of the Faulkner County Fair Parade theme contest. She recently received a $50 check from Fletcher Smith, chairman of the Faulkner County Fair Parade Committee. Her winning theme suggestion, “Circus,” was selected out of 100 ideas submitted.
