L.B. Pence spent $11.50 in winning the nomination for coroner of Faulkner County in the Aug. 9 primary, he stated today in an expenditures statement filed with County Clerk C.E. Gentry. Mr. Pence spent $2 for placing his name on the ticket and $9.50 for advertising.

Mrs. Percy Darr, sponsor of the Junior Red cross chapter in Conway, placed a cap on Mary Louise Powell, chairman of the organization’s hospital activities in a capping ceremony yesterday at the Faulkner county Courthouse. About 15 girls, known as “candy-stripers,” have been capped. They do volunteer work weekly in hospitals in Little Rock and Conway. Miss Powell attends Conway High School. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Powell.

Angela Marie Cook, 2 1/2, of Conway was named fourth runner-up in the National Miss Sweetheart USA Pageant held Aug. 13 in Hot Springs.
She was also named first runner-up in the portfolio division of the pageant. Miss Cook received a trophy and a plaque for her achievements in the pageant.
Miss Cook is a daughter of Marilyn and David Cook of Conway and a granddaughter of Pete and Jeanette Rossi of Center Ridge (Conway County).

James “Jimmy” Vincent Fudoli of Conway was recently honored as the Counseling Associates 2203 Practitioner of the Year at the 31st annual meeting of the Arkansas Mental Health Council of Arkansas.
