William J. Clark, Conway attorney, was elected commander of Theodore Campbell post No. 16, American Legion, at a meeting at the courthouse here last night. Mr. Clark will succeed T.C. Harty, who has held the position the past year. Mr. Harty was chosen as service officer.

(1963)

George Reddin, son of the Rev. and Mrs. A.R. Reddin, last week was elected president of the North American Baptist Assembly and Encampment at Latham Springs, Texas.

Young Reddin graduated from Conway High School last spring and will enter Central Baptist College next month. His father is president of the college.

(1988)

Pfc. Mark A. Williamson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roger A. Williamson of Greenbrier, recently graduated from Army armor crewman courses at Fort Knox, Ky. Williamson, a member of the Army National Guard, is a 1988 graduate of Greenbrier High School.

Greenbrier Middle School Principal Ed Lybarger accepted a check for $1,000 from Walmart Supercenter employees Geneva King, Amy Moreau, Randy Webster and Denise Willis. The money is a donation from the Walmart Foundation.

The Conway City Council will consider rezoning properties, reclassifying a city position and rebidding a project during its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Russell L. “Jack” Roberts District Court Building.
