Everyone wants to experience happiness and a life full of joy, some are fortunate enough to travel abroad in their endless pursuit of this joy and happiness, traveling all over the globe, from Africa to New Zealand and many stops in between. At the end of their traveling they return home to tell of their fascinating adventure.
While others don’t consider traveling from one end of the world to the other to be fascinating, they would much rather go to the theatre and watch a performance, or perhaps go to the museum to view the latest piece of art. Then there are some that would prefer to go to their local movie theatre to see that movie that everyone’s been talking about, and still you have those of us who would rather stay at home with family, eat popcorn, and rent a movie, or just curl up with a good book.
Some spend their time giving of themselves at the local shelter, feeding some and clothing others, while others help the seniors of their community, or volunteer as a big brother or big sister.
You also have those like Mr. Henry Hawks, who freely gives of his time to help young and older alike, get physically fit or strengthen a disability they may have. Nonetheless, everyone has something that brings joy and happiness to their lives. But dear friends I must share with you what I have found visibly tucked away in the word of God. God say’s in Luke 12:31 “But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
So we see in the word of God he says put him first, before anything, everything, and anyone else. God does want us have and enjoy things in this life. We notice that God say’s in the above scripture “But rather.” He was referring to the things the world seeks in their quest for joy and happiness, compared to what his children are to seek after. If we put God first he has assured us complete joy and happiness. This is a secret to the world, but it has been revealed to the sons and daughters of God. King Solomon say’s in: Ecclesiastes 5:18-20 “After looking at the way things are on this earth, here’s what I’ve decided is the best way to live: Take care of yourself, have a good time, and make the most of whatever job you have for as long as God gives you life. And that’s about it. That’s the human lot Yes, we should make the most of what God gives, both the bounty and the capacity to enjoy it, accepting what’s given and delighting in the work. It’s God’s gift! God deals out joy in the present, and the now. It’s useless to brood over how long we might live.” (The Message Bible)
So love God, enjoy life, and be happy. P.S. Spread your joy around the world, tell somebody about Jesus today, he would love for them to know too. Don’t keep it a secret.
