Court of Honor for the Conway Boy Scouts was held at the courthouse Monday night. Norman Byrn passed his tenderfoot requirements; Alfonse Hiegel made second class rank and passed work gardening and handicraft merit badges; and Robert Goldsborough passed work for an angling merit badge.

Pvt. Alva Clayton Glover, of Damascus, son of Mr. and Mrs. Loy Glover, completed basic training at Ft. Polk, La., and after a 14-day leave, has returned to the camp for advanced training. Pvt. Glover was second in points during basic training and received a medal. He volunteered for the army and requested overseas duty.

A Conway team comprised of eight- and nine-year-olds won a Buddy League pitching-machine tournament in Searcy on Saturday.
Conway defeated Newport 15-3 in the finals. Earlier on Saturday, Conway beat Newport 10-4 to move into the finals. Conway defeated Bald Knob Hog Wild 11-4 on Friday.

A reunion of the descendents of the Mike and Mary Zimmerebner family was held Aug. 2 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Conway. Approximately 95 relatives gathered for a potluck dinner and renewed their family ties.
Lucille Schierlang, of Conway, received the distinguished relative award, having witnessed the most years of changes and growth in the family. The youngest family member present was Raymond Finnegan, of Conway, son of Trae and Tiffany Finnegan.
