Fifteen Faulkner County 4-H club representatives who attended the annual three-day camp at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, this week, returned today. Another honor captured for Faulkner County was election of Edna Earl Reynolds of Pickles Gap as state secretary-treasurer of the junior-adult group.
County Agent E.D. Bell, Assistant C.C. Christian, Home Agent Dora S. Stubblefield, and Assistant Florence Pitts will remain at Fayetteville until Saturday for conferences with state and federal agricultural authorities.

Robert Hoyt, senior at Arkansas State Teachers College, has received a research assistantship in zoology at the University of Arkansas. Hoyt will graduate from ASTC on Aug. 11. He is majoring in biology. The assistantship is valued at $2,280 and will cover a 12-month period beginning in September. Hoyt is a graduate of St. Joseph High school. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald A. Hoyt.

Four straight singles by Matt Simmons, Scott Renfro, Greg Oaks and Wayne Lasker in the bottom of the seventh last night helped Conway Jodie Brown advanced to the finals of the Litle League state tournament with a 4-3 victory over Mabelvale Black.
Jodie Brown, undefeated in the tournament, will play the Greenbrier-Mabelvale winner at 6 p.m. tomorrow for the championship. The losers bracket winner will have to defeat Conway twice.
Phillip Spatz had a two-run double that key a three-run fourth.
The tournament is being played at Geyer Springs Community Association Park in Little Rock.

Visioncare Arkansas recently won the Youth Softball Association of Conway 12-and-under fast-pitch league with a record of 10-0. Team members are Lindsey Barnes, Caitlin O’Banion, Megan Carter, Angela Turner, Emily Sanders, Maura Ferrell, Catherine Bausom, Ashley Cyr, Courtney Self, Emily Rose, Morgan Gatto, Alex Hughes, and coaches Richard Barnes and Mike Ferrell.
