Vinson Fulks, of Conway, who is in New York studying voice, appeared on the program Saturday night, July 16, when the board of governors of the El Mirador Beach Club, Atlantic Beach, N.Y., were hosts at a “radio night” entertainment and dance in the marine grill overlooking the ocean. Fulks sang, “The Road to Mandalay.”

Sarah Scott is Miss Hospitality of Conway and will represent this city in the state Miss Hospitality contest next week in Little Rock. The winner will be chosen at the high school all-star football game Aug. 10. Miss Scott, 17, is a 1963 graduate of Conway High School. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace E. Scott. Miss Scott was a finalist and winner of the talent division in the Miss Conway contest in April. She plans to enroll at the University of Arkansas in September.

Kevin D. Crapps, son of Glenda F. Ross and Billy D. Crapps, of Morton, Miss., has been promoted to the rank of airman first class in the Air Force.

Crapps is a postal specialist with the 7025th Aerial Port Squadron, West Germany.

Codi Allyn Plymale, of Greenbrier, has been awarded the Scholastic Excellence Scholarship and the Ouachita Grant at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia for the fall 203 semester.

The scholarship pays $1,000 per semester and the grant pays $4,000 per semester.

Codi will be pursuing a mass communications degree at OBU. He also will be a member of the OBU basketball team. He is a son of Fran Plymale, of Greenbrier, and a 2003 graduate of Greenbrier High School.

Wide range of perspectives to lead UA AD search

FAYETTEVILLE – Current longtime Arkansas Women’s track coach Lance Harter, former Arkansas star quarterback and businessman Bill Montgomery, former Lady Razorback NCAA women’s golf champion and longtime star LPGA golfer Stacy Lewis are part of the search committee that University of Arkansas Chancellor Joseph Steinmetz has formed as the committee searching for a new, permanent Razorbacks athletic director.
