Conway Christian's Carter receives 2A athletic director honor

Michael Carter, Conway Christian athletic director, has been named Class 2A High School Athletic Director of the Year by the Arkansas High School Athletic Administrators Association.

It is the second honor by the AHSAA to a Faulkner County athletic director. Stephen Wood, Greenbrier athletic director, was earlier named both 5A Athletic Director of the Year and Athletic Director of the Year for the state (all classifications).

Carter, in his second year as football coach and athletic director at CCS, helped lead the Eagles to Arkansas Activities Association playoff appearances in almost every sport.

Chris Kordsmeier, St. Joseph athletic director, received the 2A honor last year.

The award recipients will be recognized during high school all-star week in Conway in June.
