Members of the rotary Club called in a body last evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Frauenthal on Western Avenue to congratulate Mr. Frauenthal on his birthday anniversary. About 20 called and after a social hour Mrs. Frauenthal served light refreshments. The club presented Mr. Frauenthal with a handsome vase filled with gladioli as a token of appreciation. Mr. Frauenthal is the only honorary member of the local Rotary Club.

Airman Third Class Elmer F. Halter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Halter of Conway, is being reassigned to Dyess AFB, Texas, for training and duty as a plumbing specialist.

Airman Halter recently completed United States Air Force basic military training at Lackland AFB, Texas.

The airman is a 1958 graduate of St. Joseph High School.

Kandyce Behnke, 17, of Conway won the U.S. Taekwondo Union’s Arkansas State championship in her division last week at Texarkana, Texas, April 14-16 at Miami, Fla.

Behnke won gold medals in the women’s featherweight division in forms and sparring.

Behnke, a second-degree black belt and a chief instructor of a peewee class at Billy Sledge’s Taekwondo Plus, will compete against 200 other entrants in her weight division at the trails.

If Behnke places in the top four at the trials, she will go to the Olympic training camp in Colorado Springs, Colo., for further training.

Marine Corps Pvt. Joshua D. Boston, son of Telela R. Grisson of Conway and Greg A. Boston of The Colony, Texas, recently completed basic training with Headquarters and Service Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego.
