(1938)

Announcement is made today of the marriage of Miss Lovie Joyce Malone, daughter of Mrs. Bennie Malone of Conway, to Robert Ernest Crownrich of Memphis. The ceremony occurred Feb. 5, 1938, at Marion, Ark., Rev. Paul Kirkland officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Crownrich are at home in Memphis, where he is engaged in business.

(1963)

Dr. Ann R. Poindexter, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Joe G. Robbins of Conway has completed all examinations for certification by the American Board of Pediatrics, and will receive her certification July 1.

Dr. Poindexter graduated from Hendrix College with honors in 1955 and attended the University of Tennessee School of Medicine, where she earned her MD degree.

She is currently on the staff of Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta.

Dr. Poindexter’s husband, Dr. Douglas Poindexter, is currently in a residency in general surgery at Grady Memorial in Atlanta.

(1988)

William R. Patterson, a 1986 graduate of Conway High School, has enlisted in the Air Force’s delayed enlistment program. He will enter the Air Force in January.

After completion of six weeks of basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, he is scheduled to receive technical training in the Air Force’s administrative area.

(2003)

Jonathan Dempsey raised the most money during the 30-hour World Vision fasting event at Servant’s Chapel General Baptist Church in Conway. He collected $1,975. Others participating were Josh Hodge, Nick Lee, Jennifer Killough, Conner Allen, Secret White, Katie Dillehay, Taylor Brown, Jake Hodge and Zach Lee. The youth raised more than $3,700 to help stop world hunger.
