Christian friends I greet you in the name of Jesus, for no other name is greater than the name Jesus our Lord and our Savior. We know how important our thoughts about ourselves, words to ourselves, and belief in ourselves are. However, most importantly, we must have faith in God. In order to accomplish anything of substance in life we must have faith in God. He is eternally on our side and wants us to succeed. As we can move forward with our discussion on faith, we will answer four questions. What is faith? Why do we need faith? How do I show faith? Where should I place my faith?

The Bible describes faith as being the substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen. The revelation we receive from the Hebrew writer is that our faith is our proof. We also can conclude that our faith in God must overrule our senses. No matter what tries to contradict our faith, we must hold fast to one truth: If we expect to receive anything from God, we must have faith. Although this can be a daunting task, it is vital. We have faith in many things such as the chairs we sit in. Usually we sit in chairs without any hesitation because we expect the chairs to do what they are supposed to do. We should not have more faith in chairs than we do in God.

We need faith. Without faith, we will not have the perseverance to complete the difficult tasks we face in life especially during difficult times. Without faith, we cannot recover from our mistakes or others. Our faith gives us the strength to continue when we are weary, to get up when we are down, or to try something new. We need to have faith in God.

Actions show faith. The apostle James says, “I will show you my faith by my works.” Our actions expose our faith. As Christians, we believe therefore, we speak. We have faith that our thoughts and words will become a positive manifestation. Every attempt we make to change our life situations is because we have the faith that we can have better and do better. Our efforts display our faith.

Place your faith in God, as he is faithful. God cannot lie and He is faithful to keep His word. He has told us he will never leave us nor forsake us. Have faith in that. God will not fail us. We are not intimidated, worried, or afraid of the ‘unknown’ because we have our faith in He who has all power. That is the ease of this undertaking.

We are to have faith. It is our unshakable proof. It is more certain than anything we encounter. Faith is a necessity. For without faith we can accomplish nothing. We must have our faith in God: our infallible unshakable Rock.

Until the next time: Our assignment is to Believe God.

May the God of Glory keep you.
