(1938)

Dr. N.E. Fraser, local eye, ear and throat specialist, said today he would open an office at Morrilton Thursday, dividing his time between here and his new location. Dr. Fraser will be at Morrilton each day from 8 to 11 a.m., and in his office here each day from 1 to 5 p.m., except Sunday.

50 years ago

(1963)

Lee W. Reynolds will serve as president of the Conway Rotary Club during 1963-64.

He and other officers and directors were named yesterday in the club’s annual election.

Edgar R. Richardson will become the club’s new vice president to succeed Reynolds. Boyd Allen was named secretary and C.T. Ray was re-elected treasurer. Allen will succeed L.M. Thompson. New members of the Board of Directors are S.T. Smith Jr., Charles R. Teeter and William O. Dunaway.

John J. Ray is the club’s president. His term will expire in June.

25 years ago

(1988)

Kim Nelson, a junior forward from Greenbrier High School, was selected to the Class AA All-West Central Region team and the all-state team, which were announced last weekend.

The selections were made by the region and district coaches.

Nelson averaged 15 points a game for the Panthers.

(2003)

Larry Henderson of Mayflower has been appointed by Gov. Mike Huckabee to the Examiners in Counseling Board.

Henderson, a licensed professional counselor, will serve until Dec. 1, 2005. He replaces Gary Teeter.
