GREENBRIER — Mayflower used five-hit pitching by Austin Grundy Wednesday on the way to a 6-4 victory over Greenbrier in baseball.
Grundy walked one, giving way to Tyler Godwin, who struck out three, and Jordan Burns, who got the save.
The Eagles (9-1) scored in the first on a double by Michael Post, a single by Ty Fowler, a two-run single by Trey Bradley and a single by Tyler Herrin. Grundy held the Panthers hitless until the fourth, when they scored twice on two hits and an error.
Derek Vickers’ double drove in Post for the final Mayflower run in the sixth, then held off Greenbrier late.
Fowler was 2 for 3 with Post, Vickers, Bradley and Jason Dawson also getting hits.
