Miss Ione Williams of London, Ky., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Williams of Conway, today accepted the position of librarian of the county library, to which she was elected by the board at a meeting Saturday afternoon. She will enter upon her duties April 1.

Miss Williams for the past seven years has been serving as librarian for Sue Bennett College at London, Ky.

Brooks Holifield, a senior at Hendrix College, has been awarded a Danforth Graduate Fellowship and Woodrow Wilson Fellowship. He is the son of the Rev. and Mrs. E.J. Holifield of Conway.

Holifield will be enrolled in Boston University and will work towards a Ph.D. degree in the field of philosophy and religion. He estimates that it will take five years to complete the degree. Holifield won the distinction of being the first Hendrix student to win a Danforth Fellowship.

Chelle Crawford fought back tears of joy Saturday night as she stepped forward to receive a tiara, silk flowers and a satin banner after being named Miss Greenbrier 1988. Miss Crawford, 17, is a daughter of Bill and Linda Crawford. Winners in other divisions were Laci Dawn Robinson, Baby Miss; Codi Allyn Plymale, Baby Mister; Miranda Powell, Tiny Miss; Jeremy Daniel Miller, Tiny Mister; Angela Marie Dunlap, Little Miss; Tamara Cates, Teen Miss; and Ashley Elliott, Junior Miss.
