Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Fair received word today that their son, Glen Fair, and his family were unharmed by the tornado which struck Rodessa, La., Thursday night. The storm struck within a mile of their home, Mr. Fair wrote his parents.

Conway High school’s annual beauty revue will be stayed in the senior high school auditorium Friday night.

Contestants were selected by the student body.

The contestants include the following: Seniors — Virginia Tyler, Jackie Bailey, Connie Helsing, Betty Horton, Sarah Scott and Sue Warren; Juniors — Mary Louise Doyle, Susie Mabry, Carolyn Fagan, Linda Chilton and Becky Joyner; Sophomores — Sandra Fulmer, Lynn Ligon, Linda King and Peggy Moore.

(1988)

Cindy Sellers of Vilonia has been elected deputy secretary-general of the Model United Nations Organization at Arkansas State University.

The first ASU Model U.N. Security Council meeting will be Friday, March 25, as part of International Week on the Jonesboro campus. A five-member team representing Chile also will attend the 1988 Midwest Model U.N. in St. Louis this month.

ASU’s Model U.N. teams competed in the 1987 Arkansas Model United Nations meeting in December at the University of Central Arkansas. The teams won 10 individual and several group awards.

Officers have been elected for Conway Chapter 796., AARP. They include Valda Rorie, secretary; Elizabeth Rose Black, vice president; Jerry Lancaster, president; and Joann Henson, treasurer.
