Conway soccer teams will play their annual Blue-White scrimmages Tuesday night.

The girls will begin at 5 p.m. followed by the boys.

The girls’ soccer team will begin the evening at 5 p.m. followed by the boys game.

The boys team this season has six seniors: Ryan Davis, Geoffrey Gough, James Keith, Logan Hampton, Andrew Massey, Victor Ramirez, Luis Silva and Matthew Williams. Hampton, Massey and Williams are all three-year returning lettermen. Davis, Keith, Ramirez and Silva have all lettered the last two years and have also had significant minutes on the varsity team. Gough is a transfer from Conway Christian.

All of these seniors have been involved locally for several years with club soccer by either playing together with Conway Rush or against each other with clubs from the Little Rock area.

The Cats have a strong group of underclassmen with seven returning juniors led by starters Landon Cole, Nestor Moguel and goalkeeper Kwan Tolbert. The Cats have 18 sophomores and three freshmen on this year’s team.

Conway, which is coached for the 15th season by Robert Irons, made in to the second round of the 7A state playoffs last season. Last year, the 7A champion, Springdale, was the first team from the 7A West to be crowned state champion. Since the formation of the 7A conference, the state champion has come from the 7A central and was either Conway or Little Rock Catholic.

Conway will have its first major action Friday, Feb. 22, against Springdale in an Arkansas Activities Association benefit game.

The Cats’ next game will be against the Tennessee state champion in its classification the last two years, Memphis Christian Brothers, on Friday March 1. The team will also play in the Cabot tournament along with other 7A teams Cabot, Bryant and Rogers on Saturday, March 2.
