(1938)

John King suffered a leg injury when a wagon on which he rode was demolished in a collision with an automobile driven by “Fat” Milam here yesterday afternoon. Sheriff J.I. Summers reported. Neither Milam or Excel McRae, who accompanied him, were hurt. King’s son also escaped injury. The accident occurred at Mill and Front streets.

A den mother, Mrs. Doug Dickerson, looked at a cake signifying 25th anniversary of March of Dimes as members of the Cub Scout Den 1, Pack 78, of St. Joseph looked on approvingly. The group helped in the recent “Mothers March” and collected about $10. They included Frank Mull, Alton Freyburger, Alan Doolos, George Schichtl, Steve Keys, David Moix, Steve Stoltz, Dennis Dickerson and Mark Tyler. The group will join with Boy Scout and Explorer groups at the school’s cafeteria Saturday night for a “Blue and Gold” banquet.

Leigh Ann Warriner of Conway will represent the Conway Business and Professional Women’s group during the state competition for Arkansas’ Outstanding Young Career Woman at the state BPW meeting in Little Rock in May.

Mrs. Warriner serves the group as first vice president. She is employed at Union National Bank in Little Rock in retail administration.

Mrs. Warriner is married to Ted Watkins Warriner and is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Roberts of Pine Bluff.

Drew Badger posed with his dad, Plummer, who is the Royal Rangers Kids commander at Conway Faith Assembly of God in Conway. Drew won first place in the Ranger Kids division of the annual Arkansas District Royal Rangers Pinewood Derby held recently at First Assembly of God in North Little Rock. Drew is a member of Outpost 267 from Conway Faith Assembly of God and is also the son of Dee Badger.
