Living by the words of our mouth

Posted: February 7, 2013 - 4:56pm

Christian friends I greet you in the name of Jesus, for no other name is greater than the name Jesus: our Lord and our Savior.

The Bible says in Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” From this verse, we can ascertain that the words of our mouth are powerful enough to design our existence. Every word that we speak is as a building block for our life. We build the life we are to have by our words. The words we speak are just as influential in building the life we want as they are in building the life we do not want. The consequences of our words are the fruit of our tongue.

Are we speaking life or death? In order to experience life differently we must change the words coming out of our mouth. Our words, fashioned by positive thoughts, pioneer the actions that can change, enhance, or create the life we have or desire to have.

We can change our life by speaking. There may be things in life that need changing: health, economics, behavior, etc. The words we speak, when we face things in life that need changing, establish if we are victorious or defeated. A children’s story called “The Little Engine That Could” reveals how we are to approach difficulties (hills) that we encounter. Instead of saying, “It’s too big” or “It’s too hard,” we should say, “I think I can … I think I can.” By saying positive words to ourselves, we are empowered to overcome and conquer the difficulties (hills) we encounter in life.

Positive words beautify life. Negative words disfigure life. The positive words we say to ourselves champion us to success. A life filled with positive occurrences is possible if our speech is reflective of such. Every person that longs to exhibit poise, self-confidence and a degree of infectious happiness must communicate with themselves through positive words. Negative words are not good motivators at best they provide short-lived motivation. Negative speech is damaging as it dissipates our motivation and leaves us discouraged. Positive words beautify life.

You can create the life you want by speaking positive words. It is essential that we seize every opportunity to speak positively. Whenever we see failure, inadequacies, and hopelessness, it is easy to speak despair. STOP! Let your words be constructive not destructive. Positive words will initiate the appropriate action and lead to a remarkable transformation. Start today. Speak positive words to yourself and watch and enjoy as you become equipped with the power to create the glamorous life you deserve. Death and Life are in the power of the tongue: speak LIFE.

Until the next time: our assignment is to speak positive words to ourselves and about ourselves.

May the God of Glory keep you.
