Arkansas River Valley Annual Convention Singing

The Arkansas River Valley Annual Convention Singing at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, at Atkins First Freewill Baptist Church. The church is located off of Exit 94 south off of I-40, first street on the left.

Singers from Faulkner County and around the state will be performing. Three new Convention song books will be used.

There will be a potluck at noon.

Faulkner County Singing Club

The Faulkner County Singing Club will be meeting at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at First Freewill Baptist Church on Washington Avenue at the roundabout in front of Hendrix College. Shelby Sawrie, club president. For more information, call Raymond Bush, club member, at 501-329-5040. The public is invited to participate in this free event. The club meets each second Sunday of each month at various churches in Faulkner County.

Lenten Luncheons

The Faulkner County Unit of Church Women United (CWU) will host a series of Lenten Luncheons for the community at noon on Thursdays beginning Feb. 14, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 2310 Oak St., Conway, with Ebenezer United Methodist and St. James CME co-hosting.

Local pastors and lay persons will lead a devotional with scripture, prayer, and music. The luncheon consists of soup, cornbread, drink and dessert, and is provided for a donation.

Other dates for the noon luncheons in the series include:

• Feb. 21 — St. Peter’s Episcopal, 925 Mitchell St., Co-Host Salem UMC

• March 7 — First UMC, 1610 Prince St., Co-Host Christ Temple Holiness

• March 14 — Four Winds, 2005 Dave Ward Dr., Co-Host First Christian

• March 21 — First Presbyterian, 2400 Prince St., Co-Host Grace UMC

The Faulkner County Unit of CWU supports local charitable agencies and organizations, hosts an annual Lenten luncheon series for the community, and holds four worship celebrations around international themes each year.

Eastside Baptist Church hosts Valentine Banquet

Eastside Baptist Church at 1735 East Oak St. will host a Valentine Banquet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14. Guest artist Aleta Frazier will entertain with spiritual songs and romantic ballads. Free keepsake snap shots will be taken. For more information, call Cathy French at 327-0538.

The McKameys to hold concertat Oak Bowery Baptist Church

The McKameys will be in concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, at Oak Bowery Baptist Church, located 6 miles East of Conway off of 286 on Otto Road. There will be no admission but a Love Offering will be taken.
