Central Baptist College opened its softball season Monday with a doubleheader sweep of NCAA Division II Henderson State, 7-1 and 8-0.
In the second game, freshman pitcher Peyton Jennings tossed a five-inning no-hitter. In the first game, junior Jessica Sheldon held the Lady Reddies to five hits and a run.
Jenkins led the Lady Mustangs going 2 for 3 at the plate in the first game, while Raeann Surrett and Christen Kirchner had two hits apiece.
In the nightcap, Surrett and Jenkins had two hits, while senior Christen Kirchner went 2 for 2 with a home run, and two RBI.
