Coaches in football and volleyball selected for June games

Tribble part of All-Star staff

Greenbrier football coach Randy Tribble will be an assistant on the West staff for the Arkansas High School Football Coaches Association’s All-Star games at the University of Central Arkansas in June.

Tony Travis of Pea Ridge will be head coach for the West. Other West assistants are Shane Patrick of Springdale, Ronnie Efird of Magnet Cove, Mark Kehner of Glen Rose, Bobby Bolding of Pine Bluff and Lafe Caton of Pea Ridge.

Randy Mote of Harding Academy will be head coach if the East. He will be assisted by Spencer Hill of Highland, Tim Harper of Searcy, Cody Curtis of Salem, Patrick Russell of Little Rock Mills, Gail Mote of Harding Academy and Brad Bolding of North Little Rock,

Vickie Gatewood of Nettleton will coach the East volleyball team, assisted by Melissa Williams of Piggott, Craig Cummings of Jonesboro and Cade Smith of Central Arkansas Christian.

West coach Jessica Phelan of Fayetteville will be assisted by Tina Moore of Fountain Lake, Hannah McDonald of Prairie Grove and Shyrah Perry of Shiloh Christian.

The volleyball games are June 19 at the Farris Center. The football game will be June 21 at First Security Field at Estes Stadium.

St. Joseph games rescheduled for Monday

St. Joseph’s home basketball games against Bigelow, postponed Tuesday because of weather, have been rescheduled.

The games will now be played Monday at the St. Joseph Family Activity Center.

Vilonia splits 7th-grade games

Vilonia split two seventh-grade girls games Monday with the Searcy Cubs.

Searcy won the A game, 25-18. Kenna Beaty scored five points for the Lady Eagles. Alexis Burnham and Alyssa Netherlain scored four  points each. Callie Eary scored three points and Sydney Johnson and Tori Wilbanks added one each.

The Lady Eagles won the B game, 30-2. Marlee Hinsley led the scoring with 10 points.  Brynn Schuetter, Ally Swaim, and Kylee Linton scored four points each.  Talyn Lawrence, Karli Thompson, and Macy McKissack scored two points each.  Ashlynn Koonce and Hannah Millsap had one each.
