H.C. Couch Jr., president of the First National Bank of Conway, yesterday was named a member of the board of directors of the Peoples National Bank of Little Rock. He was also named a vice president of the institution.
Mr. Couch recently acquired a substantial amount of stock in the Little Rock bank. He will continue the active operation of the bank here.

Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Harris will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary with open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 20 at their home in Liberty community.
Mr. and Mrs. Harris were married on Jan. 17, 1913, by Henry Carter, a justice of the peace.
Mr. Harris is a retired farmer and the couple has lived all their married life on the same farm.
Mrs. Harris is the former Viola DeJarnatt, a daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. J.W. DeJarnatt.
They have four children, Mrs. Faber Woodward of Conway, J.A. Harris and Mrs. Doyce Diehl of Vilonia and Mrs. Earl Kelley of Independence, Mo., seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Robert and Maude Carter of Conway are parents of a daughter, Carissa Dawn, born Tuesday (Dec. 22, 1987) at Baptist Medical Center.
The baby weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. The couple have another daughter, Julie, 6.
