S.E. Flake of Vilonia was elected Dec. 22 as a supervisor of the East Central Arkansas soil conservation district, it was announced today at the office of J.W. Sargent, state coordinator of the soil conservation service in Little Rock.
T.W. Riedel was appointed supervisor by the state soil conservation committee.
The district comprises nearly all of White County and adjacent parts of Lonoke, Pulaski, Faulkner and Cleburne counties, a total of about 710,000 acres.

The annual meeting of the Faulkner County Historical Society will be held Jan. 31, it was announced today by acting president J.A. Winebright. The meeting will be at the Town House Restaurant.
Winebright said that he had appointed Guy W. Murphy as program chairman to make arrangements for the meeting.

Dorothy Martin has been promoted to branch manager at Superior Federal Bank’s Conway Towne Center branch. Mrs. Martin will be responsible for operations of the branch office, which opened in January 1987 as the 27th branch of the $712 million statewide institution.
Prior to her promotion to branch manager, Mrs. Martin was senior customer service consultant at Superior’s Morrilton office. She also serves as assistant corporate secretary for the firm.
Mrs. Martin lives in Morrilton with her husband and son.

Daisy A. Ethridge will be honored at a 90th birthday celebration from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at her home on Lake Conway.
Friends and relatives are invited to join with her children, B.C. Ethridge Jr., Betty Edwards Baker and Doris Deeter and grandchildren as they celebrate 90 years of life.
