Guy

Hey kiddo’s, Santa is watching everyone to see if they have been naughty or nice. So everyone you better be on your best behavior so that he will come and see you!

Last Saturday night, Amanda Dowdy Hooten hosted the Dowdy Family for a Thanksgiving get together at her beautiful home in Greenbrier. Those present were Angie Dowdy and Michael Phillips and children, Tena and Tony VanPelt of Conway, along with Ragan and her husband, Dustin and his fiancée, Bill and Lisa Dowdy, and daughter Nicole and family, Johnny Dowdy, Jerry, Dana, Landon, Sandy and Brenda Dowdy, Tracy and Amanda Dowdy and Audrey Dowdy, Dewayne Dowdy, along with Amanda and her boys. We had a good time along with good food and got to visit with everyone. All the kids had a great time playing.

There has been a lot of people sick with the flu and whooping cough is going around town. People remember to sanitize over and over again. Prayers to Amiee Glover for a speedy recovery from her surgery; Betty Griffith, Montene Tarkinton, Brandon Clendenin, or any one else that lives in the community. Please send news and updated issues.

Check the flashing sign at the school for the upcoming events at school. Mark your calendar for Jan. 26, 2013, for the Annual Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Area 17 at Wooley Hollow State Park. It will be fun for every one!

The countdown is drawing near for Santa to visit. Be good and Santa will visit. Send news to holtb42@yahoo.com or call 679-3299 and leave a message.

Lighting of the tree at City Hall in Guy is tonight. Everyone is welcome; have a safe week.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas - the warm weather has allowed everyone to get out and do their decorating. I love the Christmas season, my favorite time of the year with all of the pretty lights. We do not want to get caught up in all of the decorations and shopping that we forget what Christmas is all about, the birth of our Lord and Saviour.

Carl and Gale Garrison were Thanksgiving visitors of Ronny and Carol Eason in Conway.

Those visiting with Joan McKaskle on Thanksgiving were: Jerry and Debra Robinson; Michael, Lindsey, Kinley, and Chanley Meek; Hope and Johnny Stone; Brian Robinson; Jeff, Carson, and Colby McNew; Karen Brock; Josh, Sarah and Cade Herring; Joan’s granddaughter, Melissa McKaskle Gragg, of Stony Point, N.C., called and said that she, her husband, Robert, and sons, Corbin and Garrett, would be here for Christmas.

Whitey Garrison Eason is recovering from gall bladder surgery the day before Thanksgiving.

Joan McKaskle needs our prayers as she is being treated at CRMC for an illness.

Ed Hammontree had surgery this past Thursday. Pray for good results and a quick recovery.
