Famed in film history, Hal Roach’s “Our Gang” is now in its fourth generation, three previous groups of youngsters having dropped out because of being too old. The present personnel includes Baby Patsy May, “Porky” Lee, “Alfalfa” Switzer, “Buckwheat” Thomas, Darla Hood, “Spanky” McFarland, with Pete the Pup.
Dickie Halbrook and Charles Milburn, two reasons why the Conway Wampus Cats are enjoying highly successful season are these two boys. They are regulars in the line and turn in top-notch performances week after week. Milburn is a tackle; Halbrook plays center. Both are seniors. They’ll be in the game with North Little Rock at the Hendrix College Stadium tonight.
Several Conway students are taking part in the Hendrix College Players’ production of “On the Verge,” to be presented Wednesday through Sunday, Nov. 4-8, on the Hendrix campus.
Stephen Kyle McDermott, a freshman and a son of Dr. and Mrs. Cecil McDermott of Conway, is a member of the house and publicity crew. Inge Marie Rapp, a freshman and a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Michael Rapp of Conway, is a member of the prop crew. Robert Thomas Van Hook, a sophomore and a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Van Hook of Conway, is a member of the sound and set and light crew.
Twelfth-graders Bill Keller and Lindsey Finley, won Greenbrier Fair Festival king and queen for the senior high.
