Wish granted for Conway girl

Posted: September 25, 2012 - 6:53pm

A three-year-old Conway girl’s wish “to eat dinner with the princesses” at Disney World in Orlando will be granted.

Savana learned Tuesday that she will go with her family to Disney World for a seven day, six night vacation in October.

The family, dad Brian, mother LeeAnn, and sisters Trinity and Shilo are set to visit Epcot, the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, the Animal Kingdom and Sea World thanks to a wish granted by the Midsouth Chapter of Make-A-Wish Foundation and sponsor Centennial Bank of Conway.

“Words cannot express what this means to us,” Brian said. “This has been a battle for the family, and [taking Savana to Disney World], we could never have afforded something like this. To have people who we don’t even know do this for us means the world.”

The family moved from northwest Arkansas to Conway when Savana was admitted to Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Savana has been dealing with heart issues for her entire life, but on Tuesday, all she worried about was what to wear on her trip.

Savana and her sisters also received gift baskets with Disney-themed items such as dresses, autograph books and dolls.

Coordinator Katherine Colgan said the Conway family is one of 200 to receive wishes in the midsouth chapter this year.

The organization grants the wishes of children ages 2 and a half to 18 with life threatening medical illnesses.

Centennial’s Make-A-Wish chair, Chandra Mitchell, said Centennial attempts to sponsor a wish each year.

On Tuesday, Savana and family reported to the bank’s main branch in downtown Conway to receive the news.

Awesome article

Such a wonderful story. So sad when little ones deal with health issues. Prayers go out to Savana and her family. Thank God there are organizations like Make A Wish, Children's Hopsital, Centennial and many others who donate money and time to make these childrens dreams come true. I hope this family has a wonderful time and enjoys every moment of Disney World. They deserve it.
