“Receive from God” that was the message from Pastor Bob Sunday morning. Luke 11:9-10 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Become a child of His and He will see you through. We serve an awesome God, and if you are not in church working and serving our Lord and Savior, He may say depart from me I never knew you, when He opens the book on judgment day.
We have several on our prayer list and they are Sharon and Darrell Watts, James Lindsey, Techler Clark, my sister Laura and many more family members and friends. Please keep our country in your prayers continuously.
A little girl sitting in church with her father suddenly felt ill. “Daddy,” she whispered, “I have to frow up!” Her father told her to hurry to the rest room. In less than two minutes the child was back. “I didn’t have to go too far,” she explained. “There’s a box by the front door with a sign that says, ‘For the sick.’”
Pastor Appreciation month is in October and everyone needs to make it a great month for your pastor. They have a lot on their plates all year so making one month special for them should be such an easy task. “Appreciate what you have before you haven’t.”
Brother John Evans Jr. kept our attention as he preached the message, “The War on Terrorism and the Final Conflict,” Sunday. He reminded us that Jesus Christ is victorious! “The key question,” he said, “is what is happening in the Middle East and how it relates to prophecy.” Israel will have clashes with neighbors and there will be wars of mass destruction. But God holds the future. Our confidence is in Him.
The whole history of Christianity is marked by conflict with Islam. The battle is intensifying but we shall prevail because God is God. What are we to do? Give up? Tremble in fear? We are to take the “Good News,” there’s salvation in Jesus Christ. The line has been drawn. Satan’s army ID advancing seeking like a lion whom he may devour. Now is the time for God’s people to stand. We are at war and the casualties are the souls of men. We need to join together for the cause of Christ.
Brother John has been calling us to the altar to pray at the end of the service on Sunday evenings. We’re praying for God’s guidance for His church at Holland and for Him to lead us as we search for a pastor.
Attendance Wednesday evening was great again! Some of our children and youth will be participating in our Singspiration Sept. 30 beginning at 6 p.m. The youth from Bono Baptist, under the direction of Tyler McKinney, will be coming to present a skit as well as numbers by their youth band. We look to this evening of praise and worship to our Lord and Savior. The service will be followed by a fellowship meal. We would be excited if you could join us.
It’s time for our Dixie Jackson offering which supports state missions. This is a direct avenue to impact our state. We will receive this offering through Sunday.
May you truly experience worship as you are humbled before God.
