I say stand up, believe and fear the Word of God. Zechariah 12:2 and 9 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the peoples round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And it shall come to pass, in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. We had better stand up to all who wants to take the Word of God out of everything and believe what will happen if anyone goes against Jerusalem and fear that which will come about if we don’t fight for what is right. I see more and more of God being taken from us and next will be our Bibles. Satan has so much control over people, who have their eyes set on the things of the world and not on the Lord. He has blinded so many and he will continue to keep you blinded. But I for one have read the back of the book and I know who will win in the end. Pastor Bob preached on the end times during the morning and evening message’s.
Though the Christian life brings joy, it also has a serious side. The accuser, Satan, lies in wait to tempt frivolous believers. Peter calls God’s people to be earnest in their belief and stand against opposition. “A lie may take care of the present, but it has no future.”
Prayers go out for the Rev. Doyle Patrick, Sharon Watts who is in the hospital, Darrell Watts and many family members and friends.
Brother John Evans Jr. keeps feeding us exceedingly abundantly from God’s Word. Every message is packed full of the food needed in the diet of a spiritually growing church. Sunday morning he preached on the church in such a time as we live. He said the function of the church has not changed. We are to bear witness of the Lord Jesus Christ in what we say and how we live. We lose focus of our purpose. We have opposition everywhere we look, yet we are to witness, warn, and win. There are consequences for denying the Savior. “The wages of sin are death,” the Bible says. The nation who forgets God shall fall!
Next, we live in a world that is confused, as seen in families, education, jobs, churches, and etc. The world is perverted in thoughts and deeds. There’s hope if the church will witness, warn, and win.
Lastly, we’re not to fit in; we are to be a “peculiar people.” We’re to be positive in Jesus. The gospel can still turn the world upside down. We’re called to be persistent. God calls us to share. The responsibility to respond lies with those with whom we’ve shared. We fail when we lose sight of our function. We must stay positive and persistent. Churches have lost their power. We’ve been given the spirit of power and a sound mind. The Word says, “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. The devil isn’t going to be “running the show” in hell. He will be cast into the bottom of “the pit.” Do we understand why we exist? We still have work to do. We must witness, warn, win living in the power that the gospel will make a difference.
