LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The Arkansas attorney general's office says there's a new scam in Arkansas in which residents are being told they are winners of an automobile.
Attorney General Dustin McDaniel's office said Wednesday that the scam artists are suggesting they know where people live, which has unsettled some call recipients.
Consumers are told they won a lottery prize — usually a car — but they have to wire money to cover taxes and processing fees before they can collect.
McDaniel's office says people who receive the calls should not wire any money — but should write down the number from which the call originated and then call the AG's consumer protection division.
Anyone who feels threatened should call police.

Citizen: "Hello?"
Caller: "Congratulations! You have won a lottery!"
Citizen: "But I didn't enter a lottery."
Caller: "No entry was necessary. The lottery was open to everyone!"
Citizen: "That doesn't sound right."
Caller: "In order to claim your prize you need to wire us money."
Citizen: "That doesn't make any sense."
Caller: "Sure it does! You have some real trust issues, now send me your money."

Hey!
Just tell them to drive the prize to the address of the Conway Revenue Office at 2455 Washington Ave., between the hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. to bring the title and all paperwork and you will inspect the prize and decide whether or not to take possession of prize and while there, if all is in order, pay the taxes and title fees! And they will need to wait while you call your insurance agent. Simple!
You probably should also inform them that you will have the media there to document the occasion!
