Sierra Club and Hendrix College’s Environmental Concerns Committee plans a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. today [tuesday] to talk about Arkansas’ Energy Future, according to a news release.
The Sierra Club and the Environmental Concerns Committee, a student group at Hendrix College, are hosting the community meeting at the college’s Mills Center for Social Sciences at 1600 Washington Ave. Gov. Mike Beebe’s staff is working to develop an “Energy Plan” for Arkansas. The plan will set the state’s agenda for the next three to five years.
This event is the third of a series of statewide public meetings organized by Sierra Club to gather input from Arkansas residents.
Panel members will talk about the potential for clean energy and the opportunity to create long-term job growth.
A question and answer session with audience participation will follow.
