The body found in a vacant lot on Harkrider Street in Conway Friday is that of a California man, Conway police said Monday.
The man believed to be in his 60s died of natural causes, according to Patrick Moore, Faulkner County coroner.
Heart disease contributed to his death, Moore said.
Officials believe they have positively identified the man and are working to notify family members before releasing his name.
The body was found just north of a Conway tire business Friday when someone stopped to see if a car parked in the lot was for sale, according to La Tresha Woodruff, Conway Police Department information officer.
Woodruff said the person who stopped smelled an odor that led to the body.
The body was found about 15 feet from the car with California plates.
Investigators believe the body was in the lot for about one week.
