Conway Running Club's open meeting

Posted: September 8, 2012 - 2:56pm

The September Conway Running Club (CRC)  Membership meeting will be held 7-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at the Conway Regional Health and Fitness Center, 700 Salem Rd. The meeting is open to the community and childcare is available.

Guest speakers Tom and Hobbit Singleton, the volunteer coaches for the Little Rock Marathon for the past eight years, will share their passion for running and what it means to them and the new and veteran runners they have impacted over the years. Both are certified coaches through the Road Runners Club of America – Tom coaching the runners while Hobbit coaches the walkers.

“If you are new to running, this is a must attend meeting. Tom has helped hundreds of new runners cross the finish line at the Little Rock half and full marathon in the last eight years,” said Pete Tanguay, Conway Running Club president. “Plus, Eric Leamon from The Ride bicycle store in Conway will be giving an exciting update on several things happening in Conway to make our city a more bike, runner and walker friendly city.”

Conway Running Club meetings are held the second Monday of each month and are intended to join Conway area runners together in one place to provide valuable information to help their running and advance the sport and the value of a healthy lifestyle.

Conway Running Club is a member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) and is dedicated to promoting running, walking, and other fitness-related activities in the Conway area.  There are currently more than 125 members ranging in ages eight to 74. Even though running is considered an individual sport, Club members believe that sticking with it and improving is something that requires other people in order to stay motivated and inspired. Become a member today to improve as a runner, make friends and connect with Conway’s running community. To connect with other members, see photos and videos and stay in touch with important announcements, visit www.conwayrunning.com and join us on Facebook.
