Student admits vandalizing Catholic High field

Posted: September 5, 2012 - 8:02pm

LITTLE ROCK (AP) — Officials with Catholic High School say the person who spray-painted the school’s new artificial turf football field has turned himself in.

The Little Rock school says a 16-year-old student from another school admitted spray-painting graffiti on Catholic’s newly dedicated football field.

Police say someone spray-painted an obscene image and the numbers “24-10,” which was the final score of Catholic’s loss Friday to Little Rock Central High School. That game was played at Little Rock’s War Memorial Stadium.

Officials with Catholic High say the 16-year-old will pay for the repair of the field, perform community service on the Catholic High campus and write a five-page essay.

The school says it does not plan to pursue charges.
