Great services at Bethlehem this past week. We began Sunday morning’s service by observing the baptism of Mary Ann Edwards and the acceptance of her husband, Charles Edwards, into our church family. We were blessed to have special music by Bill Ward, singing, “The Old Rugged Cross.” Bro. Martin’s message was the third of a series on “How To Walk In The Spirit,” Part III. The title was “Evidence That Demands a Verdict,” with the text from Galations 5:19-23. Recognized in the service were Sarah Frye and Dustin Hall as they have completed their Sunbeam steps and are moving up to GMA and Galileans.
The WMA sponsored a “Salad Luncheon” this past Saturday with approximately 70 ladies present. Our guest speaker was Maggie Chandler. It was a great time of fellowship for all of those attending.
Wednesday evening was our Fifth Wednesday Student Preacher Night. God blessed us with a good message on “Doing Everything For The Glory Of God,” from our own Scott Cavin. His message was taken from I Corinthians 10:31-33.
There will be a wedding shower for Leonard Burris and Michelle Nixon at 4 p.m. next Sunday, Sept. 9, in the FLC. They are registered at Walmart and Target.
Also September 9, following the morning service there will be a cook-out for our college students and adopted families, as well as anyone that would like to adopt a student for the year. There is a sign-up list in the foyer for food items needed. They will also be having a bake sale to raise funds for Passion (College age conference in January).
