Mary T. Maxwell
Mary T. Maxwell, 85, of Bee Branch, went to be with the Lord as she was surrounded by her family Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Conway Regional Health Systems.
She was born Sept. 5, 1924, at Morganton to the late Tom Doyle and Cora Etta Lucinda (Ellis) Stark.
She was a homemaker most of her life with the exception of a few years of public work. She was of the Baptist faith and attended the Bee Branch Baptist Church until her health began to fail. She loved music. In their younger years, she and some of her sisters formed a gospel singing group “The Stark Sisters Quartet.”
They enjoyed traveling to various locations throughout northern Arkansas for several years.
Her family was the joy of her life, and she found great joy in cooking and spending time with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Arvil Parish and H.D. “ Buddy” Maxwell; sisters, Gay Stark, Maxine Treat, Auda Graddy, Sylvia Jo Lawson and Geraldine Gifford; brothers, Audrey Stark and Jack Stark.
She is survived by her children, Larry Parish of Morganton, Diane Ward and husband Joe of Conway; grandchildren, Misti (Ward) Weatherly and husband Dr. Jim Weatherley, Dr. Josh Ward and wife Brandy of Shreveport, La.; great-grandchildren, Carter and Tanner Weatherley of Conway; and Elle Ward of Shreveport, La.; sisters, Janette Drinkwater of Wichita, Kan., and Jimmie Reed of Albany, Ore.; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Casketbearers will be Leo Treat, Michael Treat, Ronnie Bradford, Danny Bradford, Garold Rogers and Calvin Hill.
Visitation will be prior to service at 9:15 a.m. and funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel Clinton with Bro. Don Chandler officiating. Burial will follow at Hardin Cemetery in Bee Branch.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Clinton.
