Helen Irene Lively celebrated her birthday with a party for a group of friends at her friends at her home on Center Street. Games were played and refreshments were served to the following guests: Billy Jennings, Winne lou Jobe, Louise Wilson, Louise Singleton, Valjean Bush, Charlotte Lois Benedict, Thomas Mills, Billy Jaynse, Bob Jones, Tome Jones, Jack Ingram, Melwin Deeter and Thomas Jaynes.

Mr. and Mrs. JIm Pendergraft and sons, J.B. and Eddie, were weekend guests of Mrs. Paul R. Bennett at Buffalo, Mo.
A hospitalization and health policy was delivered this week to Conway’s oldest man, Will Steward, who would observe his 103rd birthday next April 3. The policy was with the Pyramid Life and Accident Insurance Co. the company placed no age limit on its applicants and Mrs. Steward met all health qualifications required. Mr. Steward came to Conway from Tennessee by ox cart on Jan. 20, 1872, one year before the town of Conway was chartered. He lived at 1222 Harrison St. Mr. Steward was five feet, 11 inches tall and weighed 215 pounds. He walked straight and remained active.

Eleven residents at Johnson’s Meadowlake Home Inc. celebrated birthdays during the month. They included Gertrude Browning, Jewel Leach, Bernard Lipsmeyer, Helen Kay, Maggie Doss, Dollie Grable, Iris Miley, Cora Sawrie, Mamie Roberts, Velma Gambling and James Workman.
A 100th birthday celebration honoring Dollie Jones was hosted by her son, Eddie Jones and his family. The celebration was held at First Nazarene Church.

Bob and Betty Hambuchen recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family gathering at their home. The Hambuchens were married Oct. 17, 1949, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Anthony Lachowsky officiating. The couple had five children, 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Hambuchen was retired from Southwestern Bell. Mr. and Mrs. Hamburchen were retired from operation of Hambuchen Garden and Gifts.
Shelley Chandler joined Sowell and Russell Architcets Inc. Ms. Chandler was a 1999 cum laude graduate of the University of Central Arkansas with a degree in interior design. She was an allied member of the American Society of Interior Designers.
