The Vilonia boys cross country team repeated as runners-up at the Class 5A state meet in Mountain Home this past weekend. Zak Bowling led the way for the Eagles, as he claimed an individual state title with a first-place finish of 17:47. Zach Mann was eighth overall with a time of 18:42. Bowling and Mann received all-state honors for their efforts. Other finishers for the team were: Hawkins Hutson (19:16), Jacob Bowling (19:32), Kody VanPelt (19:41), Nathan Pruitt (20:24), Daniel Whitehead (21:05), Josh Lyra (22:38) and Ethan McCullough (22:51). Bailey Sisson led the Lady Eagles with a fifth-place overall finish in a time of 20:50 to earn all-state honors. Eva Ross (26:08) and Nicole Rigby (26:20) also competed for the Vilonia girls.
