The Fall 2009 Juried Senior Exhibition will open at the University of Central Arkansas’s Baum Gallery on Thursday and will be displayed until Dec. 3.
Receptions will be held from 4-6 p.m. Thursday and from 2-4 p.m. next Sunday.
Students graduating with a bachelor of arts or a bachelor of fine arts degree from the Department of Art are required to display their work as a culmination of their program of study.
Graphic design major Shawn Lee, who will showcase a series of posters at the exhibition, said that he was excited about seeing his peers’ work on display.
The BA majors in studio art and art education include Lee, Ella Appleby of Conway, Kinsey Baker of Greenbrier, Katie Bass of Conway, D. Ray Brown of Harrison, Gabe Couch, Louis (Omar) Karaman of Jacksonville, Shawn Lee of Little Rock, Lauren Marlin of Little Rock, Suzanne Mille of Hot Springs, Sara Morgan of Paragould, Brianna Peterson of Jacksonville, Alexandrea Slaughter of Batesville, Blake Snider of Little Rock and Jessica Talaie of Conway. The BFA majors in Graphic Design, Printmaking and Photography include Will Ballard of Maumelle, Andrew Boatright of St. Charles, Mo., Lauren Crymes of Little Rock, Destin J. Layton of Carrollton, Ga. and Kristen Spickard of Little Rock.
The Baum Gallery of Fine Art is located in the west wing of McCastlain Hall.
Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m.-5p.m., Thursdays from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and reception Sundays from 1-5 p.m.
Exhibits and events are free, and the public is invited.
